Cercis siliguastrum (Judas tree)

Cercis siliguastrum, also known as Judas tree, is a deciduous large shrub or tree native to the Mediterranean region and is very ornamental. Its heart-shaped leaves are green, and it produces clusters of small lilac-colored flowers on its branches and trunk during the bare period between March and May before leafing. It tolerates chalky and dry soils.
