Silver Birches, also known as Weeping Birch, Warty Birch, Drooping Birch, and Sand Birch, naturally grow in Northeast and East Anatolia. These trees, which are pyramidal when young, take on an oval shape as they age. Silver Birches have very beautiful drooping branches, white bark, and leaves that turn yellow in autumn. They are one of the rare Birches that can adapt to warmth and drought. They grow well in moist, well-drained, sandy soils. Although they grow slowly when young, their growth accelerates later on. The Weeping Birch cultivar, 'Youngü,' has very beautiful drooping branches and an umbrella-like crown. However, it cannot withstand hot and dry climates. It needs support to take on a tree form. The 'Dalecarlica' cultivar has droplet-shaped leaves, and it also has drooping branches, which means it does not thrive in hot, dry climates.
